Legendary Pakistan pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar doesn’t think Babar Azam is the best batsman out of a group of players that included India captain Virat Kohli, England skipper Joe Root, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and Australia’s Steven Smith.
That honour went to Kohli as Akhtar picked the Indian skipper when asked who was the best batsman out of the five players during a question and answer session on Twitter.
Kohli

Azam has been Pakistan’s best and most consistent batsman as of late, and even starred at the World Cup, where he scored 474 runs in eight games, which included a century and three fifties, at an average of 67.71.
Root, Williamson and Smith have all been earmarked for greatness and are likely to be ranked among the best batsmen their countries have ever produced.
As for Kohli, he has broken numerous records and rewritten history on multiple occasions. In ODIs, he is only behind the iconic Sachin Tendulkar in regards to centuries scored in the format.
Tendulkar accumulated 49 ODI hundreds during his illustrious career, while Kohli has already amassed 41 ODI centuries at the age of 30.
