Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has revealed that the country’s Prime Minister Imran Khan told left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir to “bowl more in order to get bowling fit”.

Ramiz revealed that Imran gave Amir this advice upon learning that the 27-year-old was not included in Pakistan’s initial World Cup squad.

Amir, who retired from Test cricket on Friday, went on to be included at the last minute and starred at the tournament, where he took 17 wickets in eight games at an average of 21.05.
