Pakistan batsman Abid Ali has revealed that his two cricket idols are iconic India batsman Sachin Tendulkar and legendary Sri Lanka batsman Mahela Jayawardene.
Abid, who scored a century in his ODI debut, admitted that he is also eager to meet both players.
In addition to idolising Tendulkar and Jayawardene, Abid noted that he is trying to copy their style and techniques in order to become a better player.
“Both Sachin Tendulkar and Mahela Jayawardene are models for young cricketers,” he told The Nation. “I always try to follow these legends and by following their style and techniques, one can improve a lot. It will be a great honour for me to meet these legends.”
