Pakistan left-arm seamer Sohail Tanvir has revealed that he is determined to represent his country at the World Twenty20 in Australia next year.
Tanvir, who last played for Pakistan in April 2017, admitted that he was gutted to be snubbed for the World Cup, where Pakistan fell agonisingly short of qualifying for the semi-finals.
However, with the World Cup now over, Tanvir has his sights set on the World Twenty20, which will be held between October and November 2020.
“I was obviously gutted to miss out on the World Cup spot,” he told cricketpakistan.com.pk. “I missed out on the previous two World Cups, 2011 and 2015, on the last moment as well.
“Now I’m focused on playing the T20 World Cup next year. I’m always tagged as a T20 specialist and hopefully this will work in my favour.”
