Shoaib Akhtar: “Until you bring in a ‘match-winning’ management, until you bring in a ‘star’ management, you will never have a star or match-winning team”

Legendary Pakistan pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar believes that the key to the national team becoming the best side in the world is for them to have a “star” and “match-winning” management.

Akhtar’s comments come after Pakistan failed to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals.

Despite registering wins against England, South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, it wasn’t enough for Pakistan to get into the last four as New Zealand edged them out for the final spot with a superior net run rate.

However, Akhtar thinks Pakistan’s fortunes can change if the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appoint the right coaching staff.

“Until you bring in a ‘match-winning’ management, until you bring in a ‘star’ management, you will never have a star or match-winning team,” he was quoted as saying by cricketpakistan.com.pk.
