Waqar Younis: “I told them no compromises on fitness, development of players who can play at the rate of three-and-a-half and four runs per over and seniors being told to retire at the right time, but nothing came of it”

Legendary Pakistan pace bowler Waqar Younis has revealed that he provided the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) with a comprehensive plan on how to make the team better, but they didn’t follow it.

Waqar noted that he submitted the plan to the board five years ago when he was head coach.

However, instead of following his advice, Waqar pointed out that the PCB has gone in a completely different direction.

“I told them no compromises on fitness, development of players who can play at the rate of three-and-a-half and four runs per over and seniors being told to retire at the right time, but nothing came of it,” Waqar told the Daily Jang as quoted by The New Indian Express.
