Legendary Pakistan pace bowler Waqar Younis has made it clear that he has no interest in becoming head coach again.

Waqar’s comments come after there has been a lot of speculation about Mickey Arthur’s future as head coach following Pakistan’s failure to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals.

Waqar served as head coach from February 2010 to August 2011 before holding the position again between May 2014 and April 2016.

“There is a new set-up in the PCB and they have new ideas which is good but it is not necessary I can do something good for Pakistan cricket only being the head coach,” Waqar told the Daily Jang as quoted by The New Indian Express. “I can do that in any position. If the PCB offers me something I will definitely think [about] it.”
