Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif believes that Inzamam-ul-Haq did a “great job” as chief selector.

Latif’s comments come after Inzamam announced that he would be stepping down from the position at the end of the month.

Inzamam occupied the post in August 2016 after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) expressed their eagerness to name him chief selector. The board was so desperate that they even bought out the last year of his contract as Afghanistan’s head coach.

“I think Inzamam has done a great job for Pakistan cricket and I wish him [all the best],” Latif told The Nation. “If the PCB appoints him for another role, I think he can serve Pakistan cricket better. He utilised all his capabilities quite well. I think others should follow Inzi’s example.”
