The Pakistan Cricket Board have decided to sack former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq as chief selector, according to sources.
It is believed that Inzamam wanted his contract to be extended for another year, but the PCB are set to pick a new selection committee.
With Inzamam’s contract ending after the World Cup concludes on Sunday, the PCB have decided to replace him.
Sources indicate that Mohsin Khan is the frontrunner to replace Inzamam.
One source said that Pakistan’s failure to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals was the reason why the PCB have decided to part ways with Inzamam.
“Pakistan’s failure to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup has led to the decision to release Inzamam,” the source told PTI as quoted by The New Indian Express.
