Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq believes that Mickey Arthur will only relinquish his position as head coach of the national team “when he passes away”.

Razzaq’s comments come after Pakistan were eliminated from the World Cup on Friday, following their 94-run win over Bangladesh at Lord’s.

With the men in green failing to reach the semi-finals since New Zealand had a higher net run rate than them, there has been a lot of speculation about Arthur’s future.

Arthur’s current contract expires after the World Cup concludes later this month, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already confirmed that a thorough review will be held.

While Arthur has expressed his desire to continue on as Pakistan’s head coach, Razzaq feels there will only be one way he will vacate the position.

“The only way Mickey Arthur will leave the Pakistan coaching job is when he passes away,” Razzaq was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq on Twitter.
