Pakistan left-arm seamer Wahab Riaz believes that fellow left-armer Shaheen Shah Afridi has improved leaps and bounds.

Shaheen has been in red-hot form in Pakistan’s last few World Cup matches as against Afghanistan, he finished with figures of 4-47 off his 10 overs.

The 19-year-old subsequently broke the record for the best bowling figures by a teenager in a World Cup match.

In regards to his overall World Cup campaign, Afridi has taken 10 wickets in four games at an average of 19.90.

“It’s very pleasing the way we are bowling as a team, particularly the way Shaheen has improved,” Wahab was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “Shaheen was under pressure after his first game against Australia, but he has come back and taken some important wickets for us.”

Pakistan now have to beat Bangladesh at Lord’s on Friday and hope that New Zealand beat England on Wednesday as that will secure them a spot in the last four.
