Pakistan left-arm seamer Wahab Riaz will continue training ahead of the national team’s World Cup clash against Bangladesh at Lord’s on Friday, even though he is currently nursing a broken finger.
Wahab broke the little finger on his right hand the day before Pakistan’s three-wicket win over Afghanistan on Saturday.
However, since he managed to get through the match, where he took two wickets and scored a crucial 15 runs, he will keep training with the Pakistan team.
“His injury is painful, but Wahab has opted to continue training as he wants to play against Bangladesh. It’s a must-win game for us and the team will need his experience,” Pakistan’s media manager Raza Kitchlew was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder.
Pakistan have to beat Bangladesh at Lord’s on Friday and hope that New Zealand beat England on Wednesday as that will secure them a spot in the last four.
