Pakistan batsman Azhar Ali has insisted that he has no regrets about retiring from ODI cricket.
Azhar brought his ODI career to an end in November 2018 as he wanted to prolong his Test career.
He also felt that it was time to allow younger talents like Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman to make their presence felt.
“I think it was the right time to step down from ODI cricket as I was struggling with injury and young players like Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman were ready to take my place,” he told cricketpakistan.com.pk. “I want to concentrate on Test cricket now and want to [take] my responsibility as a senior player after the retirements of Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq.”
