Legendary Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has admitted that Bangladesh can give the national team a “tough time” in their World Cup clash on July 5.
Pakistan will play Afghanistan on Saturday and if they win that match, they will have to beat Bangladesh in order to keep their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup semi-finals alive.
However, with both Pakistan and Bangladesh having currently won three matches, lost three games and had one washed out, Afridi conceded that the men in green could struggle when they go up against Bangladesh at Lord’s.
“For me, they [Bangladesh] have shown immense improvement and played well so far in the tournament. They can give Pakistan a tough time in their upcoming match,” Afridi said while talking on ARY News’ program ‘Har Lamha Purjosh’.
“They [boys] don’t need to think about qualifying for [the] semis as there are two hurdles for them to cross. The team should play positive cricket and show their strength.”
However, even if Pakistan defeat Afghanistan and Bangladesh, it might not be enough for them to reach the last four as they will have to rely on the results of other matches.
