Former Pakistan pace bowler Sarfraz Nawaz believes the national team should bat first if they win the toss in their World Cup clash against Afghanistan at Headingley on Saturday.
Sarfraz believes that Pakistan should bat first since the weather will be hot. As a result, he expects the pitch to be hard and offer a lot of support to the batsmen.
“The sun is very hot in the UK as the temperature is 30 degrees Celsius, so the pitch will be hard and I suggest that Sarfraz Ahmed bat first and try to post a decent total on the board,” Sarfraz told The Nation.
If Pakistan beat Afghanistan, they will then have to take down Bangladesh at Lord’s on July 5 in order to have any chance of reaching the last four.
However, even if they defeat Afghanistan and Bangladesh, it might not be enough as they will have to rely on the results of other matches.
