Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan dedicated the national team’s World Cup win over South Africa on Sunday to all the fans who have been supporting the men in green “through thick and thin”.

Shadab played a major role with the ball in the match, which Pakistan won by 49 runs, as he took three wickets.

Pakistan’s victory over the Proteas kept their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup semi-finals alive, but they still face an uphill battle to reach the last four.

“This victory is for the fans of Pakistan cricket who support the team through thick and thin. We are working hard and trying to improve with every match. Keep backing your country, we all are playing for Pakistan,” Shadab said on Twitter.

Pakistan’s next World Cup match will be against New Zealand at Edgbaston on Wednesday.
