Former India opener Virender Sehwag believes Pakistan’s major weakness is their batting rather than Sarfraz Ahmed’s captaincy.
Sarfraz has been heavily criticised for Pakistan’s disastrous World Cup campaign thus far and there is speculation that he will be stripped of the captaincy after the tournament.
However, Sehwag feels that Pakistan’s batsmen have been the bigger problem as they haven’t lived up to expectations.
“Pakistan’s weakness is [their] batting, not [Sarfraz’s] captaincy,” Sehwag was quoted as saying by The Nation.
With Pakistan only having won one of their five World Cup games thus far, they will be looking to turn their fortunes around when they take on South Africa at Lord’s on Sunday.
