Pakistan pace bowler Rumman Raees has called on fans to keep showing their support for the national team in the World Cup.

Raees’ comments come after Pakistan lost to arch-rivals India by 89 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method in their World Cup clash on Sunday.

India’s victory extended their unbeaten streak against Pakistan as they have now won all seven of their meetings against their arch-rivals in the World Cup.

To make matters worse, Pakistan have now only won one of the five World Cup games they have played.

Despite this, Raees, who has not played international cricket since January 2018, urged fans to keep backing the men in green and show the same passion they did when Pakistan won the Champions Trophy in 2017.

“Today, they need your support like you supported them two years back. Ups and downs are part of sport, keep your believe and faith, our team will rise again Inshallah,” Raees said on Twitter.

Pakistan’s next World Cup match will be against South Africa at Lord’s on Sunday.
