Legendary Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram has admitted that he is extremely concerned about pace bowler Hasan Ali’s form with the ball.
Hasan has only taken one wicket in the World Cup, which was that of Australia seamer Pat Cummins in Taunton on Wednesday.
However, in addition to his lack of wickets, he has also conceded a lot of runs as gave away 39 runs in four overs against the West Indies, 66 runs off 10 overs against England and 67 runs off 10 overs against Australia.
“It’s a concern that Hasan Ali is not taking wickets. He was our main bowler in the Champions Trophy and was the leading wicket-taker but now he [doesn’t] seem [to be] in good form. He must improve his game, you can’t bowl in ODIs the way you bowl in T20 Internationals,” Akram told The News International.
Pakistan lost to Australia by 41 runs and will look to bounce back when they face their arch-rivals India in Manchester on Sunday.
