Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja believes that the national team have to be wary of Australia batsmen Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith in their World Cup clash on Wednesday.
Smith has been in excellent form in the World Cup as he has made scores of 18, 73 and 69 in Australia’s first three games against Afghanistan, the West Indies and India.
As for Khawaja, he has registered scores of 15, 13 and 42.
“If the situation comes where the Pakistani bowlers feel that the Australian batsmen can be susceptible to the short ball, then they should use it,” Ramiz was quoted as saying by Geo.tv. “The Pakistani bowlers must not give space to batsmen Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith. An extra man must be brought in the circle to pressure the Aussies.”
