Legendary Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram has admitted that pace bowler Hasan Ali is in desperate need of wickets.
Hasan went wicketless in Pakistan’s two World Cup games against the West Indies and England, while the men in green’s third match against Sri Lanka was washed out.
In addition to not taking wickets, Hasan has been very expensive as he conceded 39 runs off four overs against the West Indies and 66 runs in his 10 overs against England.
With Pakistan’s next World Cup match being against Australia in Taunton, Akram believes that the national team need to take early wickets and feels it presents another opportunity for Hasan to regain his form.
“It is important for Pakistan to get quick wickets [with] the new ball,” he told Geo.tv. “I hope Amir will continue with his form and it’s time for Hasan to get some wickets with the new ball.”
