Legendary Pakistan pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar doesn’t believe India are demanding favourable pitches in the ongoing World Cup in England and Wales.

India beat South Africa by six wickets in their World Cup opener on Wednesday.

However, Akhtar believes that that those who believe the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are requesting advantageous pitches for the national team are wrong.

Akhtar added that the groundsmen don’t even listen to the England team, let alone India.

“No matter what the English team keeps telling them, they make the grounds as per their wish. There are a few guidelines that they follow, but apart from it, they do not listen to any person or body,” Akhtar was quoted as saying by CricTracker.

India’s next World Cup match will be against Australia at The Oval on Sunday.
