Former Australia captain Allan Border believes that no one is favourites to win the World Cup right now as there have been a couple of surprising results.

Pakistan lost their World Cup opener against the West Indies by seven wickets as they were skittled out for a dismal score of 105.

However, they bounced back in brilliant fashion as they beat England, who are considered one of the favourites to win the World Cup, by 14 runs in Nottingham on Monday.

“There’s no obvious runaway-looking team at the moment,” Border wrote in his column for the International Cricket Council as quoted by Dawn. “All the sides are basically showing they can beat each other. That’s the main thing that’s come out of these early games.

“I think that is how most of us expected it to be at this point, that there would be a lot of teams you expect to do well and then there would be a few surprise packages.”
