Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has provided three reasons on why his side will shine at the World Cup, which begins in England and Wales on Thursday.
Sarfraz noted that Pakistan have done well in England in the past, as they won the 2009 World Twenty20 and Champions Trophy in 2017.
He also noted that the pitches in England are “excellent” and will benefit both the batsmen and bowlers throughout the World Cup.
Finally, Sarfraz also pointed out that Pakistan have a loyal fan base in England, which will help keep his side motivated during the showpiece event.
“The pitches will be good for bowlers and batters in this World Cup,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by Geo.tv. “Pakistan’s past record in England is very good. For me, I love to play here because the pitches are excellent.
“We’ve got lots of support here too, so that’s why we play well in England.”
Pakistan will begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on Friday.
