Former Pakistan skipper Moin Khan has admitted that he is a big fan of Sarfraz Ahmed and even sees his “own reflection” in the current captain.

Sarfraz has been heavily criticised this year for Pakistan’s poor performances in ODIs as they were beaten 3-2 by South Africa and whitewashed 5-0 by Australia.

In their most recent ODI series against England, they were crushed 4-0.

However, Moin firmly believes that Sarfraz is the right person to captain Pakistan.

“I see my own reflection in Sarfraz,” Moin was quoted as saying by cricketpakistan.com.pk. “The way he remains involved in the match. He is a very talented player. I have always admired him. Whenever Pakistan falls in trouble, he always performs and helps the team out of it. He always answers his critics with his bat and keeping gloves.

“Sarfraz shouts in the ground and that too in a motivational manner. He is always humble with the media. I hope Pakistan can perform well under his captaincy.”

Pakistan’s second World Cup warm-up game will be against Bangladesh in Cardiff on May 26.

They will then begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
