Pakistan left-arm seamer Wahab Riaz has revealed that eight to 10 days ago, he dreamt that chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq told him he had been included in the World Cup squad.

Fast forward to today and Wahab’s dream has come true, much to the surprise of many people as the 33-year-old wasn’t even part of the list of 23 probables for the tournament.

Along with Wahab, fellow left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir and big-hitting middle order batsman Asif Ali was included in the finalised World Cup team.

Left-arm pace bowler Junaid Khan, all-rounder Faheem Ashraf and opener Abid Ali were dropped from the side.

“After not being selected for the 23-member squad I would dream about being included,” he was quoted as saying by Geo.tv. “About eight to 10 days ago, I had a dream that Inzamam was telling me I was going to play in the World Cup and this was my last chance. Then I got the call from him that I had been included in the squad.”

Pakistan will play two World Cup warm-up games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Bristol and Cardiff on May 24 and 26 respectively.

They will then begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
