Sarfraz Ahmed has urged the people of Pakistan to “get behind” the national team for the World Cup, which will begin in England and Wales on May 30.

Pakistan were beaten 4-0 in their recently concluded five-match ODI series against England, but Sarfraz, who captains the men in green, noted that “there have been a lot of positives in this series”.

“There have been a lot of positives in this series that we can take to the World Cup. I urge our fans and the nation to get behind us for the World Cup,” he was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq on Twitter.

Pakistan will play two World Cup warm-up games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Bristol and Cardiff on May 24 and 26 respectively.

They will then begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
