England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has admitted that it would be a mistake to underestimate Pakistan at the World Cup, which begins in England and Wales on May 30.

Pakistan have struggled in ODIs this year as they were beaten 3-2 by South Africa before being whitewashed 5-0 by Australia.

They have also lost their ongoing five-match ODI series against England as they trail 3-0 going into the final match.

Despite this, Buttler insisted that Pakistan shouldn’t be taken lightly, especially considering how they won the Champions Trophy in England in 2017.

“Don’t underestimate Pakistan for the World Cup. They are a dangerous opponent as we saw at the Champions Trophy,” Buttler was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq on Twitter.

After the ongoing five-match ODI series against England, Pakistan will play two World Cup warm-up games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Bristol and Cardiff on May 24 and 26 respectively.

They will then begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
