Former Pakistan batsman Imran Nazir believes that openers Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman will play key roles at the World Cup.
Both Zaman and Imam have been in excellent form as of late as Zaman scored a superb 138 in the second ODI against England.
As for Imam, he struck a career-best 151 in the third ODI and broke a number of records with that knock.
“Fakhar is not a youngster anymore. He has very important role to play in the tournament along with Imam-ul-Haq to give Pakistan a solid start,” Nazir told Geo.tv.
After the ongoing five-match ODI series against England, Pakistan will play two World Cup warm-up games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Bristol and Cardiff on May 24 and 26 respectively.
They will then begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
