Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has revealed that openers Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman will have to maintain their excellent form at the World Cup.

Should they do so, it will no doubt help Pakistan in achieving their goal of winning the World Cup for the first time since 1992.

Zaman scored a superb 138 in the second ODI against England in Southampton, while Imam struck a career-best 151 in the third ODI in Bristol.

“Our openers are in good form. Fakhar struck a century in the second ODI [and] then Imam crossed the 100-run mark. I think they are going well, but [they] need to carry this form in the World Cup as well,” Ramiz was quoted as saying by arysports.tv.

After the ongoing five-match ODI series against England, Pakistan will play two World Cup warm-up games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Bristol and Cardiff on May 24 and 26 respectively.

They will then begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
