Inzamam-ul-Haq: “Pakistan’s performance in the second ODI was good”

Pakistan chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq has admitted that he was pleased with the national team’s performance even though they lost the second ODI against England by 12 runs.

England scored 373/3 after being put in to bat first, largely thanks to Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 110, which came off just 55 balls.

Captain Eoin Morgan struck an unbeaten 71, while Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow made 87 and 51 respectively.

Pakistan’s chase was spearheaded by opener Fakhar Zaman, who smashed a sensational 138.

However, even though Babar Azam and Asif Ali both scored 51 runs, Pakistan fell short of their target.

Despite this, Inzamam was glad that the men in green put up an incredible fight and came close to chasing down a mammoth target.

“Pakistan’s performance in the second ODI was good,” Inzamam was quoted as saying by arysports.tv. “It was a big total. If Pakistan had won it, I would have been happy.”

Pakistan will now look to bounce back in the third ODI, which will be held in Bristol on Tuesday.
