Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has admitted that his “major concern” going into the World Cup is his side’s inconsistency.
Pakistan have struggled in ODIs this year as they lost 3-2 to South Africa and were most recently whitewashed 5-0 by Australia.
Pakistan are currently playing a five-match ODI series against England, but the first match was washed out due to persistent rain.
“Our inconsistent performance has been my major concern. It can be attributed to the fact that we have a young team so that was always going to be the case,” Arthur told Sky Sports as quoted by cricketpakistan.com.pk. “Even then we have played some tough ODI cricket away from home and have done particularly well in T20s.”
Pakistan will begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
