Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed is optimistic his side will “perform well” in the five-match ODI series against England as they have done a lot of preparation.
The ODI series between both sides will get underway on Wednesday at The Oval and run until May 19.
Pakistan will be looking for revenge in the first ODI as they lost the one-off Twenty20 International against England by seven wickets.
“We have prepared well so we [will] try to play good cricket in the upcoming five matches, and attain as much confidence before the World Cup. I am hopeful that my side [will] perform well in the ODI series,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder.
After the ODI series against England, Pakistan will play two World Cup warm-up games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Bristol and Cardiff on May 24 and 26 respectively.
They will then begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
