Sarfraz Ahmed: “I’m satisfied with the World Cup squad”

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has revealed that he is “satisfied” with the team picked for the World Cup, which will begin in England and Wales on May 30.

Announcing their squad last month, there were a number of surprises as young seamer Mohammad Hasnain was picked ahead of left-arm seamers Mohammad Amir and Usman Khan Shinwari.

In addition to that, big-hitting batsman Asif Ali was snubbed, while opener Abid Ali, who made his international debut against Australia in the five-match ODI series in the United Arab Emirates, made the cut.

“I’m satisfied with the World Cup squad,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by cricketpakistan.com.pk. “There was some debate over one or two names but in the end we unanimously agreed on the selected bunch of players.”

Pakistan will kick off their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
