Legendary Pakistan leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed has said that fellow spinner Shadab Khan be thinking of taking a wicket every ball he bowls during the World Cup.

Shadab was included in Pakistan’s World Cup team, but he is currently recovering after being diagnosed with a virus.

It is believed that the cause of his virus was improperly sterilized dental instruments.

The 20-year-old will rest for two weeks before undergoing more blood tests in Lahore, upon where it will be decided whether he will be fit for the World Cup.

Should he be fit, Mushtaq noted that in addition to taking wickets, Shadab will also have to focus on his variations and flight.

“He needs to focus on his variations and try to keep the ball flighted,” he said on ARY News’ show ‘Sports Room’.

Pakistan will begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
