Pakistan spinner Imad Wasim has made a major claim, saying that his side will defeat India at the World Cup and go on to win the tournament as well.
The men in green will go head to head with India on June 16 in Manchester.
Pakistan have lost all six of their previous World Cup meetings with India, but they can take some confidence from the fact that they annihilated their arch-rivals by 180 runs in the Champions Trophy final in 2017.
As for winning the World Cup, Pakistan have not done that since 1992.
Despite all of this, Imad still has high hopes going into the tournament.
“We’re not [only going] to win against India but win the whole thing,” he was quoted as saying by Dawn.
Pakistan will kick off their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
