A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official has made it clear that no additional players will take part in the fitness tests for the list of 23 World Cup probables.

The 23 players will undergo the fitness tests at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on April 15 and 16.

A number of high-profile players were omitted from the list of probables, including batsman Umar Akmal, opener Ahmed Shehzad and left-arm seamer Wahab Riaz.

“No more players have been asked to attend the fitness tests. The number of players requested to attend the fitness tests remains at 23,” the official was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq on Twitter.

Pakistan’s World Cup squad will be announced on April 18, and they will kick off their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
