Wasim Akram: “OK, Amir has taken four wickets in 14 matches, but he’s still one of the best bowlers we have”

Legendary Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram has insisted that fellow left-arm pace bowler Mohammad Amir is “still one of the best bowlers” the country has despite his struggles in ODI cricket.
Since the Champions Trophy final in June 2017, Amir has taken five wickets in 14 ODIs at a dismal average of 92.60.
Even though many former players and current captain Sarfraz Ahmed have expressed their concerns about Amir, Akram defended the 26-year-old, saying he will overcome the current rough patch he is going through.
“Someone tell me is there a good bowler who we haven’t seen yet? OK, Amir has taken four wickets in 14 matches, but he’s still one of the best bowlers we have. He can swing the ball, he’s just not getting wickets,” Akram was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
I beg to differ from Wasim Akram. In my opinion Aamir has reached his potential. Hence his performance has gone down and he is no more effective. Youngsters like Shinwari and Shaheen are doing well and deserve to be included in World Cup squad.
I think it will be touch and go whether Amir is included in the finalised World Cup squad because his poor form in ODIs has continued for almost two years. Shaheen will be a crucial bowler in the years to come and Shinwari can definitely be effective in English conditions.
M.amir should go for the world cup 2019 ..he is a quality bowler and england conditions and those greeny pitches suits him and he can serve PAKISTAN

I think there is a chance he could miss out. He is definitely a skilful bowler, but he has struggled to take wickets in ODIs since the end of the Champions Trophy in 2017.
