Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad was thrust into the social media spotlight for all the wrong reasons as he asked for a review after dropping a catch.
Shehzad dropped a straightforward chance at deep midwicket while playing for Federal Areas against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the second match of the Pakistan Cup on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the final over of Khyber’s chase of 270 to win.
With Khyber needing three runs to win off four balls, Khushdil Shah, who was on 39 at the time, heaved a delivery from Mohammad Nawaz down to Shehzad, who fumbled the catch before dropping it.
However, in a moment of madness, the 27-year-old called for a review, but it only added insult to injury as the replays clearly showed that he had dropped the catch.
Khyber went on to win the match by three wickets with two balls to spare.

To make things even worse for Shehzad, he wasn’t included in the list of 23 probables for the World Cup despite having an excellent campaign in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he accumulated 311 runs in eight games for the Quetta Gladiators, which included four half-centuries, at an average of 51.83.
