Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has admitted that the national team have to strike early with the new ball when bowling in any World Cup matches.
Should they fail to do so, Sarfraz conceded that any score they make could be under threat.
He added that Pakistan have a history of taking early wickets, and added that they will have to keep this trend up if they want to do well at the World Cup, which begins next month.
“We have to strike with the new ball, if we do not strike early in the innings, it does not matter how much we score, it will not be a safe total,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “We have a history of striking with the new ball, whether you see T20Is or the Champions Trophy. You cannot put the opposition on the back foot without taking early wickets.”
