Mohsin Khan, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Cricket Committee, has conceded that the national team’s all-rounders will have to step up if Pakistan want to have a chance of winning the World Cup.
With the World Cup starting next month, Pakistan will need to rely on the all-rounders they have to put up strong performances.
However, Mohsin noted that among the all-rounders picked in the list of 23 probables for the quadrennial tournament, they must be at their very best going into the event in England and Wales.
“Quality all-rounders are vital for any team to win matches,” he was quoted as saying by Dawn. “[Therefore] we need to further boost the performance of available all-rounders to win the mega event.”
Pakistan will begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
