Mohsin Khan, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Cricket Committee, has noted that the national team were whitewashed 5-0 in their recent ODI series against Australia since they were mentally weak.

Pakistan rested a number of key players for the series in the United Arab Emirates, which included captain Sarfraz Ahmed, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali.

Despite this, Mohsin lamented the fact that Pakistan could not even win a single game.

“During the recent ODI series against Australia [in the UAE], the Pakistan players could not produce good performances [since they were] lacking in mental fitness,” he was quoted as saying by Dawn. “They must have been prepared mentally before playing against a tough opponent.

“A good player and team always perform under pressure.”
