Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has made it clear that he has never had any issues with batsman Umar Akmal and opener Ahmed Shehzad.

Sarfraz’s comments come after Akmal was fined 20 percent of his match fee for breaking the team’s curfew during the recent ODI series against Australia in the United Arab Emirates.

As for Shehzad, he served a five-and-a-half month ban for violating the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) anti-doping rules twice last year.

However, with Sarfraz having played alongside both Akmal and Shehzad – most recently for the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) – he reiterated that he has never had any problems with either of them.

“I have played alongside Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad and they have played [under] my captaincy and I have never had any issues with them as such,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by PakPassion.

“Throughout the tournament (PSL), we didn’t have any issues with these two batsmen. Umar Akmal’s behavior in the PSL was very good and no one in [the] team management had any problems with it.”
