Pakistan pace bowler Mohammad Asif believes the national team can win the World Cup in England and Wales later this year, but admitted that they need to be wary of their competition.
With Pakistan having won the Champions Trophy in England in 2017, Asif feels that the men in green could taste World Cup glory for the first time since 1992.
However, the 36-year-old pointed out that teams like India and Australia will pose a serious threat as they have both been in excellent form.
“Pakistan has a good chance to perform well in the World Cup, considering [that] they won the Champions trophy in England two years ago,” he told cricketpakistan.com.pk. “However, they should be wary of teams like India and Australia, who are also shaping up well ahead of the mega event.”
