Waqar Younis: “He’s got a big future in front of him”

Legendary Pakistan pace bowler Waqar Younis firmly believes seamer Mohammad Hasnain has a “big future in front of him” after he made his international debut.

Hasnain featured in the second ODI against Australia in Sharjah on Sunday and conceded 54 runs off his nine overs.

While he didn’t take any wickets, Waqar admitted that he was impressed with the 18-year-old’s performance.

“He’s got a very strong action, he’s fit,” Waqar was quoted as saying by Dawn. “He’s got a big future in front of him.”

Hasnain was included in Pakistan’s squad for the ongoing ODI series against Australia after grabbing the spotlight in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he took 12 wickets in seven games for the Quetta Gladiators at an average of 17.58.

Pakistan are currently 2-0 down in the five-match series and will be looking to bounce back in the third ODI on March 27 in Abu Dhabi.
