Former Pakistan captain Aamir Sohail believes that batsman Ahsan Ali has an extremely bright future ahead of him.
Sohail’s comments come after Ahsan scored 178 runs at an average of 22.25 in eight matches for the Quetta Gladiators in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL).
While there weren’t many up and coming batsmen that stole the spotlight in the tournament, Sohail feels that Pakistan needs to invest in those who show some promise.
“I was also impressed with Ahsan Ali from Quetta Gladiators and this is exactly the type of talent that needs to be recognised and developed to serve Pakistan in the future,” he wrote in his blog for PakPassion. “Any such player who is showing a spark should be encouraged and we need to invest in these players.”
