Pakistan seamer Hasan Ali has credited bowling coach Azhar Mahmood for all the success he has had in his international career thus far.

Hasan has become a regular face in all three formats for Pakistan and was even named the ICC’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year for 2017.

In the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), Hasan, who is playing for the Peshawar Zalmi, is currently the highest wicket-taker with 22 dismissals to his name in 11 games at an average of 12.86 and economy rate of 6.68.

However, Hasan reiterated that all his success, especially in international cricket, has come from working closely with Mahmood.

“All the good things regarding my bowling successes in international cricket have been down to Azhar Mahmood,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “I am constantly in touch with him, even when I am playing in domestic cricket or at the Pakistan Super League and getting advice and guidance from him.

“He has an immense amount of experience having played all around the world and learning from him and utilising his experience has been really good for me and the rest of the Pakistani pace bowlers.”
