England batsman Alex Hales firmly believes that Karachi Kings left-arm spinner Umer Khan has a “huge future” ahead of him.
Hales’s comments come after he played against Umer in Islamabad United’s four-wicket win over the Kings in the first eliminator.
Hales was named Man of the Match for his knock of 41 as his side knock the Kings out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
However, the 30-year-old was highly impressed with Umer’s performance in the match as the 19-year-old finished with figures of 2-16 off his four overs.
Umer, who dismissed Cameron Delport and Chadwick Walton in the match, is currently the joint third-highest wicket-taker in the PSL with 15 wickets at an average of 16.13.
“It was quite tricky in the middle as young Umer Khan bowled beautifully and he’s got a huge future,” Hales was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq on Twitter.
