David Willey finished with career-best figures of 4-7 off three overs

David Willey cut through the West Indies’ top order with a four-wicket haul to help England obliterate them by eight wickets in the third Twenty20 International in St Kitts.

Choosing to bat first, the West Indies got off to the worst possible start as opener Shai Hope was caught by Alex Hales at short cover off the bowling of Willey on the first ball of the match.

Shimron Hetmyer only made eight runs before he was caught by Chris Jordan at mid-off off the bowling of Willey.

Willey then struck twice in the fifth over, first removing John Campbell for 11 before having Darren Bravo caught behind for four runs.

With the West Indies reeling at 24/4, they were unable to recover as Mark Wood and Adil Rashid carved through their middle and lower order to bundle them out for 71.

Willey was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets, while Wood snapped up three, Rashid took two and Joe Denly chipped in with one.

Chasing 72 to win, England lost Alex Hales early on as he was dismissed by captain Jason Holder for 20.

Jonny Bairstow, who opened the batting with Hales, struck a 31-ball 37 before he was clean bowled by Devendra Bishoo.

Despite the loss of Bairstow, England skipper Eoin Morgan and Joe Root mopped up the remaining runs to lead their side to a comfortable win.

Holder and Bishoo claimed one wicket each.

Willey was named Man of the Match.
