Former Pakistan leg-spinner Abdul Qadir has compared India captain Virat Kohli to ex-Pakistan skipper and current Prime Minister Imran Khan.
While Imran is arguably Pakistan’s greatest-ever all-rounder, Qadir pointed out that he sees a lot of similarities between Imran and Kohli’s batting and style of captaincy.
“If I look at Virat Kohli as a batsman and captain, yes, I can say he is similar to Imran Khan in the manner that he also sets the example by doing something himself and then expects his team to also do the same,” Qadir was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder.
However, even though Kohli has rewritten the record books across all three formats on numerous occasions, Qadir feels that the 30-year-old is still not up to Imran’s level.
“Kohli is not yet there [at the level of Imran]. But no doubt the Indian captain also leads by example by performing himself,” he said.
